Working out of 51/B Kirti Nagar Industrial Area near the petrol pump means there is always noise around us. This is an industrial neighborhood, so you hear trucks and machines from early morning. Our space is filled with plastic molding equipment and raw materials. It is not a clean, white-walled office. There are scraps on the floor and the smell of warm plastic is everywhere. We spend most of our hours watching the machines and making sure the cycles are running right. If a part comes out wrong, we have to figure out why and fix the setting. It is repetitive work but it pays the bills. Being near the petrol pump is handy for the delivery vans. We don't spend much on decorations because the focus is on the output. My clothes usually have a bit of dust on them by lunchtime. We eat our tiffin quickly and get back to the floor. Kirti Nagar is a tough place to navigate sometimes with all the traffic, but we are used to it by now. The machines need constant attention so someone is always standing there. We deal with suppliers and pick-up drivers all day long. It is just a group of us trying to keep the production moving without too many breakdowns. Nothing fancy, just a regular factory day in an industrial part of town.
