Pankaj Sharma Enterprises is based at Plot No. 250 in Mandav Nagar, right near the Hari Nagar Sabzi Mandi. If you know the area near Ghantaghar, you know how crowded it gets, especially in the mornings when the vegetable trucks are arriving. Our office is just a simple room with a couple of chairs and a lot of paperwork piled up on the desk. We handle various trading tasks and moving goods around. The noise from the market is constant, so we’ve learned to talk pretty loud to hear each other over the shouting. There isn't much to look at here, just concrete walls and some storage space in the back. We started this because we knew the area well and it seemed like a good spot to set up. Most days are spent on the phone or checking the arrivals at the Mandi. It’s a lot of manual work, shifting crates and making sure the numbers in our books match what’s on the floor. Sometimes the rain makes the street outside really muddy, which makes loading things a real pain for everyone. We drink way too much tea during the slow hours in the afternoon. It’s a basic operation and we don’t try to make it sound like something it isn't. We’re just here doing our job in the middle of all the market chaos. It’s a bit messy and loud, but it is home for us.
