Interior Designer

This place is located in Basai Dara Pur, New Delhi. It’s Wz - 469. It’s not a very big office. Actually, it’s quite small. We have just enough room for a couple of desks and a place to sit if a client comes by. Basai Dara Pur is a bit of a maze if you don’t know the area well. The streets are tight and there's always something going on outside. We do work as an Interior Designer, which sounds fancy, but it’s mostly just hard work and a lot of measuring. We spend a lot of time on the floor with tape measures. The walls are covered in some old samples and a calendar that’s usually a month behind. It gets pretty hot in the afternoons, so we have a small fan that rattles. We don't have a big corporate structure or anything like that. It’s just me and a couple of others trying to make people's homes look a bit better. We handle everything from the initial sketch to the final paint job. There are always delays with laborers or the weather, but we've gotten used to that. It’s just the reality of working in Delhi-110015. We aren't trying to change the world; we just want to make sure the cupboards fit and the colors don't clash. It’s a simple business, run out of a simple room. It gets noisy with the traffic outside but we just keep working.
