Gulati Handloom

Our shop is number 6 in the Sanatan Dharam Mandir Market. We are located in Baljeet Nagar, which is part of the West Patel Nagar area. Being right in the temple market means there is a lot of activity, especially on festival days or weekends. You can often smell the incense from the mandir nearby. The shop itself is filled with handloom items, so there are stacks of fabric and textiles everywhere you look. It’s a bit of a squeeze sometimes when we get a lot of stock in at once. We’ve been here in Patel Nagar for quite a bit. The shelves are old wooden ones that have seen better days, but they do the job of holding everything up. We spend our mornings dusting off the fabric and making sure things are folded well enough. It’s a lot of manual work, lifting rolls and moving things around. The light in the market isn't always the best, so we have a few extra bulbs hanging from the ceiling. We don't have a big team, just a couple of us who know where everything is kept. It’s a local way of doing things. People come in to feel the material and chat for a bit. We don't push anyone to buy. We just show them what we have and let them decide. It’s a quiet life in a busy market. This is Gulati Handloom, just a simple local shop.
