Malik Cattreres

Our place is over at C-29 in Sudarshan Park. It is a bit of a quiet spot compared to the main roads, which makes loading the vans a little easier most of the time. We go by Malik Cattreres, and yes, we know the name on the board has that extra 'r' in it, but we never bothered to change it since everyone around here already knows who we are. The kitchen is always a mess of vegetable crates and big metal containers. We spend most of our hours chopping, stirring, and making sure the lids are on tight before we head out to a venue. It’s a lot of physical labor. You’re constantly on your feet and your clothes always end up smelling like onions or woodsmoke. The neighbors sometimes complain when we’re working late into the night, but usually, they just stop by to see what’s cooking. We don’t have a flashy storefront. It’s just a workspace where we get things done. Some days the sink acts up or we run out of space to store the extra chairs, but we manage somehow. It’s a family-run thing mostly, so you’ll often see a few of us arguing over where the salt went or which van should go out first. It isn't glamorous work, and the heat in the summer can be pretty brutal, but it keeps us busy and pays the bills.
