Esi Hospital, Delhi

This hospital is tucked in Basai Darapur. It’s right near the Raja Garden Ring Road, so the traffic outside is almost always loud. You can hear the cars and trucks all day long from the windows. Esi Hospital here in Delhi is a big operation. We have a lot of people coming in from the surrounding areas. The Ring Road makes it easy to find, which is good because people need to get here quickly sometimes. Inside, it’s just the usual hospital environment. There are benches for people to wait on and desks where we do all the filing. We don’t have any polished speeches or anything like that. We just tell people where they need to go and try to help them out. The building shows its age in some spots, but it serves its purpose. We have a routine that we follow every morning to get things ready. The cleaners start early, and then the doctors and nurses start their rounds. It’s a lot of coordination. We deal with a lot of paperwork because of the government rules. It keeps us busy. Some days the lobby is packed and it gets a bit warm in there. We just keep going until the shift is over. It’s a straightforward place with a lot of history in this part of Delhi. We don't try to be anything we aren't. It is just a place for people to get their health checked and go home.
