Avi Vegetables

Avi Vegetables is over in Jwala Puri, Delhi. We’ve been set up here for a while now and it’s a busy place to be. Every morning we have to get up way before most people are even thinking about waking up. We go and get the produce and bring it back to the stall. Sorting through everything takes a long time because you have to look at every piece. It's a lot of heavy lifting with the crates and our hands usually stay pretty messy throughout the day. Delhi is a loud city and Jwala Puri is no different, with people always shouting and moving around. We aren't a big fancy shop with air conditioning. We just have our spot where we lay everything out so people can see what we have. It’s a simple way to live, just buying and selling what people need for their kitchens. Some customers have been coming to us for years and they always stop to chat for a minute. That makes the long hours feel a bit shorter. We don’t have a website or do any of that modern stuff. We just stand here and sell vegetables. When the day is done, we pack up what’s left and go home to rest before doing it all again. It’s tiring work but it’s what we do to get by. We just try to keep things moving and stay friendly with the neighbors in the market.
