Amit Goyal

My name is Amit Goyal and I’ve been based in Moti Nagar for a good many years now. The address is 23/17C. This part of New Delhi is always moving, never quiet for a second. We are right in the middle of all that action. The 110015 area is where I grew up and where I decided to stay for my work life. It’s a small operation here. I don’t believe in having a lot of overhead or expensive things. I keep the place very simple. There’s a lot of history in these streets and I like being a part of it. My space is filled with books and things I’ve collected over time. It’s not the most organized looking place to an outsider, but I know where every single paper is. If you asked me for a file from three years ago, I could probably find it in five minutes. People stop by sometimes for a quick talk or a cup of tea. I’m usually there from early morning until late evening. Moti Nagar has changed a lot, with new shops and tall buildings opening everywhere, but we stay right where we are at 23/17C. It’s a practical way to live and work. I do my own accounts and answer my own phone calls. It keeps me busy and out of trouble. I don't use any big words to describe what I do. I just get up and do it. That’s the way my father did it and it works for me too.
