It’s a busy little spot, especially when the kids are heading to class or going home in the afternoon. We make fly ash bricks here day in and day out. The yard stays full of stacks ready to go. We’ve been part of this neighborhood for a while, and most folks around Hunter Road know where we are. It’s a noisy job sometimes with the machines running, but it’s honest work. We don’t spend much time on computers or in fancy offices. Most of our day is spent out on the ground, checking the mix and making sure the bricks are drying properly. Sometimes parents from the school stop by to ask questions if they are planning to add a room to their house. We just tell them what we have and let them look around. Shayampet is a good place to be. We have a small crew and we all know each other pretty well. We don't really have a big sales pitch. We just make the bricks and if people need them, they come and get them. It’s a routine that works for us and has kept us going through the years. We like seeing the buildings go up around town using what we made. It makes the long days in the sun feel worth it.
