Mekalagattu Farmers Producer Company Limited is based out of House Number 1-96/1 in the village of Mekalagattu. This is in Raghunathpally, over in the Jangaon area. We are right in the heart of the farming country in Telangana. Our group is made up of local farmers who live and work right here. We didn't want to be just individuals trying to figure everything out on our own, so we started this company. The office isn't anything special to look at, just a regular building where we can keep our things organized. We spend most of our time dealing with the actual crops, but we have to handle the business side too. That is what this place is for. It’s where we get together to discuss what seeds to buy or how to deal with the latest challenges the weather has thrown at us. Being in Mekalagattu means we are close to our fields and close to each other. We don't use any fancy language or try to sound like a big city firm. We are just local people who know the land. Sometimes the work is slow and sometimes it is incredibly busy, but we just keep at it. Having this collective helps us feel a bit more secure. We aren't trying to change the world; we are just trying to take care of our families and our farms. It’s a lot of hard work but we are used to it and we keep moving.
