Mahammadapuram And Marripalli Farmer Producer Company Limited

Down here in Mahammadhapuram village, things move at their own pace. Our office is at house number 3-30, right in the heart of Duggondi Mandal. It’s where the farmers from around here and Marripalli come to talk about the crops. We started this producer company because it made sense for us to work together instead of everyone doing their own thing. There’s usually a lot of dust on the porch from the tractors going by, but that’s just life in the village. We sit around on plastic chairs and go over the numbers or talk about who is growing what this season. It isn't a big glass building or anything, just a simple place where we store some things and keep our records. Sometimes the electricity goes out in the afternoon, so we just sit outside in the shade for a bit until it comes back. The air is always smelling like the fields, depending on what’s being harvested at the time. We spend a lot of time on the phone with the mandal office or checking the local market rates to see what’s happening. It’s hard work being a farmer, and running this company is just another part of that job. We don't use big words here, just plain talk about seeds, water, and prices. Everyone knows where the office is, so we don't need to explain much. It’s just us trying to get a fair shake for the work we do.
