L&T Construction Ltd.

We are currently working on the Atomic Power Project No. 3 & 4 out here near Kakarpar Village. L&T Construction Ltd. has a big presence on this site because there is an incredible amount of heavy lifting and concrete work to be done. It’s a high-security area, so there are fences, checkpoints, and gates everywhere you look. Our daily lives revolve around the strict project schedule and safety briefings. We wear our hard hats and safety gear all day, which gets pretty sweaty and uncomfortable in the Kakarpar heat, but it’s required. The site is massive, with giant cranes and heavy trucks moving around constantly. We are responsible for specific sections of the construction, mostly the heavy structural parts that need a lot of steel reinforcement. It’s a lot of coordination with the engineers and other contractors who are on site at the same time. We have our temporary offices and bunkhouses set up nearby so we don't have to travel far after a long shift. It’s a different kind of life living on a project site like this, far away from the main cities and our families. We eat together at the mess hall and talk about the progress we made during the shift or any issues we ran into with the equipment. It’s tough work and the standards are very strict because of the nature of the power plant, so we just keep focused.
