Working at Tata Technologies in China Waltair is a bit different than being in a huge city like Mumbai. We are tucked away here, and the vibe is a bit more relaxed despite the technical work we do. The office has the usual stuff—computers, cubicles, and a lot of meetings about engineering and design. Waltair has its own pace. You can feel the sea breeze sometimes if the wind is right. We have a mix of people here, some who have moved from far away and others who grew up just down the road. It’s a professional place, but it doesn't feel cold. We have our internal jokes and the regular spots where we go for a quick break. The building is functional. We spend a lot of time on calls with teams in other time zones, which can make the hours a bit strange sometimes. It’s not uncommon to see someone staying late or coming in very early to catch a meeting. We don't really do the whole corporate branding thing in our daily talk. We just call it the office or the site. It’s where we spend most of our daylight hours, solving problems and working through spreadsheets or design software. China Waltair is a nice enough backdrop for it all. We just show up, do our bit for the projects, and then head back to our lives outside these walls. It’s a long day but the work gets done eventually.
