At Gopala Krishna Engineering Industries, we work out of a place in Chimmalapalli. The address is D.No: 1-38, near Porlupalem in the Vepagunta area of Viskhapatnam. It’s a bit of a mouthful to say, but we’ve been here a long time. The business is run by the family, starting with P.H.H. Prabhakara Rao’s son. We handle engineering stuff mostly. It gets pretty hot here in Viskhapatnam, but the workshop stays busy regardless. We have some machines and tools that we use every day to get the jobs done. It’s not a fancy factory, just a solid place where we work hard. Chimmalapalli is a quiet area, which is nice for us. We don't do much advertising. Most people find us through word of mouth or by just coming to D.No: 1-38. We try to keep the equipment in good shape. There’s always something that needs maintenance. We aren't polished business types. We’re more comfortable in our work clothes dealing with technical things. Sometimes things go wrong, and we just spend the day fixing them. That’s just the nature of engineering. We’ve been part of this community for years. People know what we do. It's a simple, practical way to make a living. We value the routine and the work itself. It’s been our life for a long time and we just keep on going with it. There is always plenty to do around the workshop.
