Shilpa Garments

Shilpa Garments is located right on the 1st Main Road in Rajajinagar 3rd Block. This part of the city is always moving. You can hear the scooters and buses outside our window from morning till night. We have been working out of this space for quite some time now. It’s a simple setup. We have the cutting tables on one side and the rows of machines on the other. Sometimes the thread gets everywhere, and we have to spend the last hour of the day just sweeping up. We make all sorts of garments here. It’s mostly local stuff. The light in the 3rd block is decent, but we have those long tube lights over every station so the tailors can see the stitches properly. We don’t really do much advertising or anything like that. People just know we are here on the main road. The building is older, so the walls have some scuffs and the floor is a bit worn down from all the walking. We have a small corner for our lunch boxes and a water cooler that makes a loud gulping sound every time someone uses it. It’s a steady place to work. We know the neighbors, and the tea guy brings a tray over twice a day. It’s just how we run things. Nothing too complicated, just cutting and sewing day after day in Rajajinagar. We’ve been here through the rains and the heat and keep the machines going regardless.
