Moorathotti Coffee Shop

Moorathotti Coffee Shop is over at 1-5871 on Kummari Street, which is part of Swarna Bharathi Nagar. It’s a quiet residential neighborhood for the most part, though Kummari Street gets its fair share of traffic during the morning hours. Our shop is a basic setup, nothing like those fancy chains you see in the malls. We have some simple seating and a counter where we do all the prep work. The building itself is part of a larger block, and we’ve been here for a good amount of time. We usually get the first pot going before the sun is even up, so the smell of coffee starts drifting out onto the street early. Most of our customers are folks who live right here in Swarna Bharathi Nagar and stop by on their way to work. We don't have any big marketing plans or anything; people just find us by word of mouth or by walking past. The interior is a bit plain, with some old tables and chairs that have seen better days, but they’re comfortable enough. We do all the cleaning and maintenance ourselves, so there’s always something that needs fixing or tidying up. It’s just a small, local business trying to do things the right way. We enjoy the regulars and the slow pace of the afternoon when things settle down. It’s a good spot to be. We've made 1-5871 our home and the neighbors seem to appreciate having us here on Kummari Street.
