Percolator Coffee House

Our coffee house is at Door No 7-5-1 on R K Beach Road in Visakhapatnam. We are right beside the Kali Matha Temple, which is a major landmark here in the city. The best part of being here is the sea breeze, although the salt air does make the metal chairs rust a bit faster than they would elsewhere. We spend a lot of time wiping down the tables and the counters because of the sand and the humidity that comes off the ocean. The mornings are usually the busiest when people are out for their daily walks on the beach. They stop in for a quick drink before heading home to start their day. The staff is mostly local kids who know the area well and can tell you where to find things. We don’t have a complicated menu or anything like that. It’s just coffee and some simple snacks. Sometimes the noise from the temple festivals is so loud we can’t even hear the customers, but we just point and nod and get it done. It’s part of the charm of being on the beach road. The view is good, but we are usually too busy behind the counter to look at the water much. We keep the machines running and try to make sure there is enough milk in the fridge for the next round of orders. It’s a simple life by the water. We aren't trying to be the trendiest spot in Vizag, just a place where you can sit.
