You’ll find our office right opposite Vuda Park in the East Point Colony. It’s a pretty nice spot because we get to see the greenery of the park across the street. Being a co-operative, our setup is a bit different than a standard private company. We have a lot of people coming in from different areas, and the lobby is usually full of folks waiting to talk to someone. The building is a bit older, with those wide hallways and ceiling fans that have been spinning forever. We handle a lot of different products and materials, so there’s often a bit of a mix of things stored in the back. It’s not a polished corporate office. There are stacks of registers and hand-written ledgers in some departments because that’s how we’ve always kept track of things. The atmosphere is generally friendly, like a small community. We take time to talk to the people who come in, even if it takes a bit longer to get through the day's tasks. We aren't chasing big profits in the way some others do; we’re just here to make the co-op work for everyone involved. It’s a busy, sometimes chaotic place, but there is a lot of heart in it. We just do our best to stay organized and help out the people who rely on us.
