You can find us at Plot No. 12 inside the Brandix India Apparel City at Atchuthapuram. It’s part of the larger APSEZ area in Visakhapatnam. This place is huge and there are thousands of people coming to work in this apparel city every day. Our building is just one of many in this big complex, but we’ve got our own way of doing things here at Plot 12. It’s a lot of floor space filled with rows of machines and people working on different stages of the clothing. Sewing machines make a constant hum from morning until the end of the shift. Offices are few and far between here; most of the space is dedicated to the actual work of putting garments together. Vizag is a long drive away, so most of us are here for the whole day. The canteen nearby is where we usually catch up for lunch. Structured times are part of the deal in an apparel city, with set schedules for everything. We try to keep things moving smoothly so we don't fall behind. It’s a very practical environment where the focus is just on the fabric and the finished product. We don't really do much in the way of corporate polish. We just keep our heads down and get the boxes ready for shipping at the end of the day. It’s hard work, but we are used to the pace and the noise. It feels good to get things done and see the trucks loaded up.
