Araku 1 Coffee

Araku 1 Coffee is based out in Besspuram Village, specifically at Plot No. 11-21 in Ananthakirimandal. It is a bit of a drive to get out here, but the air is different than in the city. We spend most of our time dealing with the actual beans and the local growers. The village is small, so everyone knows what’s going on at the plot. We don't have a big office with glass windows. It's more of a functional space for processing and packing. The weather out here in the hills really dictates how our week is going to go. If it rains too much, everything slows down. We’ve got a small crew of people from the nearby area who help us out. We don't spend money on big ads or trying to sound like a corporate brand. We just know coffee and we know this land. The address might sound complicated on paper, but once you’re in Besspuram, it’s easy enough to find. There are lots of early mornings where we just sit with a cup and plan the day’s work. It’s a lot of physical stuff, moving bags and checking quality. It isn't always glamorous, and sometimes the mud gets everywhere. But we like the quiet of Ananthakirimandal and the way things move a little slower here. We’ve been at this for years and it feels right to be in this part of the country.
