Vikram Steel Mart

Vikram Steel Mart is located right on the Virudhnagar By Pass Road in Naranapuram Pudur. It is a noisy spot because of all the heavy trucks and buses flying past on the highway all day. We deal with all kinds of steel rods, sheets, and pipes that people need for building sheds or houses. The yard is full of metal and it can get quite hot under the sun out there. We use a lot of heavy machinery to move the bigger pieces around, so it’s always a bit loud at the shop. We started this place because we saw how much construction was happening along the bypass. Most of our customers are builders or farmers who need something strong for their land. We do not have a lot of staff, just a few guys who know how to handle the steel without getting hurt. Sometimes we have to cut pieces to specific lengths which takes some time. It’s a messy job with all the iron filings and rust, but we do not mind. We stay open late most days because that’s when the drivers like to pick up their loads to avoid the worst traffic. We do not have a big corporate setup, just a small office where we keep the ledger and a few chairs for visitors. It is just honest labor in a busy part of town. The sound of metal hitting metal is something you just get used to after a while.
