Sriram Machinery Works

Sriram Machinery Works is basically where I spend almost all my time, even on some weekends if the work piles up. We don't have a big office or a reception area, just the workshop floor and the tools we have been using forever. Most of the guys here have been with me for years so we don't really have to talk much to know what needs doing next. People bring in their parts or ask us to fix something that broke down, and we just figure it out as we go. It’s a bit messy with the oil and the metal scraps, but that’s just how a machinery place looks if you are actually working. I remember when we first got the big lathe, it took up so much space we had to move everything else around twice. Sometimes the power goes out and we just sit outside for a bit until it comes back on, talking to the neighbors. It’s not like those big corporate places you see on the news with the glass walls and suits. Here, it is mostly grease and heavy lifting. We don’t really do any fancy promotion, people just know where we are and what we can do with our hands. It’s a simple life, really. You wake up, you fix things, and you go home tired but feeling okay about what you did that day. I suppose it is not for everyone, but we enjoy the work and the company of the crew.
