Sankar Avinash Rice Mill

Sankar Avinash Rice Mill is at 16 D, Chinthamani Salai in Rajammal Nagar. We’ve been operating out of this building for quite a while now. It’s a functional space, mostly filled with the sound of the motors and the smell of raw rice. The walls are a bit stained from years of work, but the machinery is what matters. We have a small yard out front where the trucks back in. It can be a bit of a tight squeeze on Chinthamani Salai when a big delivery arrives. We spend our days watching the hoppers and making sure the bags are filled correctly. The staff here is small, just a few local guys who know the routine. We don’t have a fancy office; it’s just a corner with a table and a couple of plastic chairs. Rajammal Nagar is a decent area, and we have good neighbors who don't mind the noise too much. Sometimes the belts on the machines snap and we have to stop everything to fix them. It’s physical work and your clothes are usually dusty by noon. We start when the light comes up and finish when the work is done. There aren't any big corporate rules here. We just try to do a solid job and keep the machines running. People know where to find us if they need their grain processed. It isn't anything flashy, but it is our daily life here in the mill.
