Kugan Rice Mundi

You can find Kugan Rice Mundi at 23/91, Sethupattu Kavarai Street. This street has been our home for quite some time. It's one of those narrow lanes where everyone knows everyone else’s business. We deal mostly in different varieties of rice, and the smell of grain is always in the air around our place. It’s a dusty job, and there’s always a broom leaning against the wall because we’re constantly sweeping up. Our shop is packed tight with sacks, stacked almost to the ceiling sometimes. We have to be careful how we move things around so nothing falls. It’s a family-run kind of thing, and my cousin usually helps out with the heavy lifting when he’s not busy elsewhere. We don't bother with fancy displays or lights. People come here because they know where we are and what we have. Sometimes the delivery trucks have a hard time navigating the street, but we manage to get them unloaded eventually. The neighbors are good people, and we often share a cup of coffee while watching the world go by. We aren't trying to be anything more than a reliable rice shop. It's hard work, and the days are long, but there’s a certain satisfaction in seeing the store full. We just keep doing what we've always done, one day at a time, without any fuss or bother.
