Inside India

Inside India is based out in Auroville, specifically in the Auroshilpam area. It’s a different kind of vibe out here compared to the main town of Pondicherry. There’s more green and it’s generally a bit quieter, though we stay very busy. We work out of our space here, focusing on travel and showing people what this part of the country is actually like. It’s not about those big shiny tour buses or staying in generic hotels. We like the more grounded side of things. Our office in Auroshilpam is where we plan things out and meet with people. Sometimes the power goes out or the roads get muddy after a heavy rain, but that is just part of living and working in Auroville. We spend a lot of time talking to guests and trying to explain the local way of life. It’s not a corporate setup where everything is scripted. We just tell it like it is. People come to us when they want a trip that feels a bit more personal. We know the local spots and the people who live here because we live here too. The office is usually full of maps, notes, and the smell of tea. It’s a small team and we all do a bit of everything, from answering emails to walking out to meet visitors. It’s a steady pace and we enjoy the people we meet.
