Green Valley

Green Valley is located right on Kumbakonam Road. If you’re driving through Panruti Ho, you’ve probably passed us a few times. We started out with just a small plot and it grew from there over the years. It’s mostly outdoor work, so we’re usually covered in dirt by noon. The sun gets quite hot out here on the road, but we have some shade near the back where we take breaks. We deal with whatever is in season. Sometimes it’s a lot of work getting everything watered and sorted, but that’s just how it goes in this business. We don’t have a big front desk or anything. Usually, you’ll find one of us near the trucks or checking on the rows of plants. My uncle helps out on the weekends when it gets crowded. We keep a ledger on a wooden table to track things. It’s not digital or fancy, but it works for us. People from town stop by to see what we have. We talk about the rain or the lack of it. It’s a quiet life mostly. We don’t use any big machines, just our hands and a few tools we’ve had for years. The gate stays open during the day so anyone can walk in. It’s just a local spot on the edge of Panruti. We’re happy to be here and just do what we do every day without much fuss.
