Atb & Bharath Granites

Our place, Atb & Bharath Granites, sits right on the Pondy-Mailam Road in Thindivanam. If you’re driving down that way toward Thenalappakkam, you’ve probably seen our stacks of stone. We have been at this location, No: 32/6, for a while now. It’s a practical setup. We don't have a big showroom with air conditioning or anything like that. It’s mostly just the open yard where we keep the granite. The weather in Thindivanam can be quite tough, but the stone doesn't mind. We spend most of our day moving slabs around and talking to people who come in from the nearby villages. A lot of the time, it’s just us and the crane operator making sure everything is loaded safely onto the lorries. We’ve seen the road get much busier over the years. We started out small and just kept adding more stock as we went along. We don't use a lot of fancy words to describe what we do. We just sell granite. Some days are slow and we just sit and drink tea, and other days it feels like every builder in the district is calling at once. We try to keep a decent variety of colors, but it really depends on what we can get from the suppliers at the time. It is a simple business run by regular people who know a bit about stone and how to move it around.
