Asiatec & Co

Our shop is located in the Pipdic Industrial Estate down in Kirumampakkam. It is a very busy industrial area, so there are always heavy trucks coming and going at all hours. Asiatec & Co has been here for a while, tucked away among the other factories and small units. The air always smells a bit like metal and exhaust, which is just part of being in an estate like this. We do a lot of technical work inside the unit. Most of the guys are out on the floor for most of the shift, while a few of us stay in the small office area to handle the incoming orders. It is not very big, and the walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but it serves its purpose for now. We do not really go for fancy decorations or expensive rugs. We have a couple of old fans that keep the air moving when it gets humid, which happens often. Sometimes the power goes out in Kirumampakkam, and everything just stops for a bit. We use those moments to catch up on some rest or have a cup of tea together. People think industrial work is all about big machines, but it is mostly just staying organized and making sure the small parts are handled correctly. We do not make a big fuss about what we do. We just show up and do the work. (250 words)
