Aurosimon

Out here in Tiruchitrambalam, things are a little quieter than they are in the center of Pondicherry. We are located just a bit via the main road to the city, so we get a mix of local people and people passing through. Aurosimon is our small business and we have been at this location for a good while. It is a nice spot because you can still see some trees and it doesn't feel as cramped as the big cities. The building is simple, painted a light color that has started to peel a bit from the sun and the salt in the air. We have a workshop area where we spend most of our hours. It’s got high ceilings to help with the heat, which can get pretty intense in the afternoons. We usually take a longer break when the sun is at its highest and then work a bit later into the evening when it cools down. There is a specific way the light hits the floor in the morning that I have always liked. We don't have a big corporate structure or anything like that. It is just a few of us making sure the work is done properly and handled with care. We know the people in the village nearby and often help each other out with different things. It is a practical life, working with our hands and keeping the business running. Every day is different, but the work remains steady.
