White House

The shop is called White House and we are located on Tavvavari Street at Dr. No.11-45-102. It's a bit of a funny name for a small store in this area, but it’s what we’ve always been called since we opened. We mostly focus on clothes and some textiles that people around here use for their daily wear. The street is usually full of life, and our door is always open to let a bit of the breeze in. Inside, it's mostly stacks of fabric and ready-made items piled on the wooden counters. It isn't a huge place, so things can get a little crowded and messy when we have more than three or four customers at once. I usually spend the afternoons folding things back up after people have looked through the piles. We don't have any big signs or bright lights, just the merchandise and a place for people to sit if they’re tired. It’s a quiet way to make a living. Most of the people who come in are our neighbors or folks who have been shopping on Tavvavari Street for many years. We know most of them by name and we usually know what they like to buy before they even ask. It’s not like those big malls where nobody knows who you are. Here, we take our time and talk about the day while we work. It’s just how things are done in this part of town and it works for us.
