J. K. Hydro Powers

Our shop, J. K. Hydro Powers, is located at Dr.No.54-9-52 in the U.C.P. Centre. We are right near the Disposal Bus Stop on 100 Feet Road in Autonagar. It’s a very busy part of town with buses and trucks constantly going past, so it’s never really quiet here. We’ve been in this location for a long time, dealing with parts and equipment for hydro power systems. It’s a niche kind of work, and most of our day is spent looking at technical specs or helping a customer find a specific valve that they can’t find anywhere else. The office is a bit cramped because we have so many catalogs and spare parts lying around on the shelves. We don't bother much with decorations or making the place look polished. We think it’s more important to actually have the part someone needs than to have a nice carpet. Most of our customers are engineers or maintenance guys from the surrounding areas who know they can just drop by and talk through a problem with us. We usually have a pot of tea going in the back, and the conversation is mostly about machinery and how to get things running again. It’s not a glamorous business, but it keeps us busy and we like the people we meet. Autonagar is a good place for a shop like ours because everyone else around here is also working with their hands. It feels like the right fit for us.
