Manikanta Arts

Our shop is on Jenda Street in Arundalpet. We are at 29-19-18, which is just opposite the lane where the VIP Bags showroom is. It’s a bit of a narrow street, so you have to look closely to find us sometimes. We call it Manikanta Arts because we do a lot of the creative work and sign painting that involves a bit of a hand-touch. It’s not all machines here. We still use brushes and pens for some of the jobs folks bring in. The place is full of paint cans and old sketches. It’s a bit messy, but we know where everything is kept. We have been in this neighborhood for years and know most of the other shop owners on the street. We don’t do big fancy presentations. Usually, a customer comes in with an idea, we draw it out on a piece of paper, and then we figure out how to make it real. It is a slow process sometimes compared to the big shops, but we like it that way. We aren't trying to rush through everything. We just want the signs to look right when they go up. It’s just me and a helper most days. We stay until the light goes, then we close up and head home. Sometimes the rain makes it hard to work on the bigger boards, so we just wait it out. It is a simple way to earn a living in Arundalpet.
