Lalitha Ojha Famous Mehandi Designer & Beautician

My name is Lalitha and I work out of my place in Winchipet. The address is Door No 8-1-16/A, near the Ramgopal Chowltry. It is very close to the Vijayawada Railway Station, so you can always hear the trains shunting and the whistles blowing. I am a mehandi designer and also a beautician. I’ve been doing this since I was a young girl, learning from my mother. Most people call me for weddings or during the festival seasons. I don't have a big shop with a sign. Usually, people just come to the house or I go to their homes with my bag of henna cones. I sit on a small stool for hours doing the fine lines on someone’s hands. It makes my back ache sometimes, but I like the work. In the house, I have a small corner set up with a mirror and some basic supplies for threading and facials. Winchipet is a crowded area with narrow streets, so it’s best if you walk from the station. The Ramgopal Satram is the main landmark everyone uses to find me. My hands are almost always orange from testing the henna paste. It’s just me working here, and maybe my niece helps when there are too many customers. We use traditional designs mostly, but I can do the modern ones too if you show me a picture. It’s a humble setup.
