Unnati Hippo Campus Pre School

Unnati Hippo Campus Pre School is located in the Talikoti Rural area of Bijapur, Karnataka. Being a pre-school, it is a very noisy and busy place most of the time. We have small children running around and playing in the 586214 area. The building is geared towards little kids, so there are some bright colors on the walls and toys scattered about. It’s not a corporate office; it’s a place where kids learn how to sit in a chair and share things. We have a lot of local parents from the rural parts of Bijapur coming by to drop off their children. The staff here are mostly local people who know the families well. We don't use any fancy teaching methods, just the basic stuff like songs and drawing. Some days are more chaotic than others, especially when it’s raining and the kids have to stay inside. We just manage as best we can. The furniture is all small, and we spend a lot of time cleaning up spills and putting things back where they belong. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy from morning till the parents come back in the afternoon. There isn’t a mission statement hanging on the wall; we just try to keep the kids safe and occupied for a few hours every day. It’s a simple operation for the local community here in Talikoti.
