Vijashani Stone

People always ask how we manage with all the heavy stones here on Durga Nagar Main Road. It’s a lot of work honestly. My brother and I started Vijashani Stone because we knew the area and saw how much building was going on around here. The road gets really busy during the day and the dust from the stones gets everywhere. You can’t really help it when you’re moving granite and marble around all morning. We usually open up early before the sun gets too high. It’s just us and a couple of helpers mostly. We keep a lot of different slabs stacked up in the back but it’s hard to keep it organized when trucks are coming in and out. Sometimes the traffic makes it difficult to unload things but we make it work. Customers come in and walk through the aisles looking at the patterns and we just let them take their time. There isn't any fancy showroom or air conditioning. It’s just a practical yard with a small office where we keep the ledger. Most of the folks who stop by are from the neighborhood or contractors who have been coming to us for years now. We don’t do much advertising because everyone around Durga Nagar knows where the stone yard is. It is a simple life really. We just focus on getting the slabs out and making sure the measurements are right so nobody has to come back twice.
