Atmavishwas Kalayan Producer Company Limited is based in Ward No-1, Baksariya, in the Rajendra Nagar area of Vidisha. We are a group of farmers and local people who wanted to build some self-reliance. The name "Atmavishwas" actually means self-confidence, and that’s really what we were looking for when we started this. In Vidisha, we have a lot of good land, but small farmers often feel like they don't have any power. By coming together in this company, we feel a bit more in control of our own lives. We aren't professional businessmen with suits and ties. Most of us are more comfortable in the fields than in an office. Our meetings are pretty informal, usually held in Baksariya where we can all get together easily. We talk about the basics: seeds, rain, and how to get our produce to the market without losing all our money to middle agents. It’s a lot of trial and error. Some seasons are good and some are really tough, but we stick together through it. We don't have a big marketing budget or a fancy website. We just focus on the work at hand and trying to improve the lives of the members in our group. It is a slow process, building something from the ground up, but we are okay with that. We just take it one harvest at a time and keep going.
