Our place is out in Vasai Phata, specifically at unit 112 in the Ashtavinayak Industrial Estate. It is a big, dusty area with a lot of different workshops around us. You can hear the sounds of saws and hammers going from early in the morning until the sun goes down in the evening. We have a decent amount of space here to keep the piles of wood and the finished pieces we have worked on. It is not a showroom with carpets, big windows, or air conditioning. It is a working shop where real labor happens. We spend most of our time covered in a thin layer of sawdust. We make things one at a time by hand. Sometimes a piece of furniture takes longer than we thought it would because of the weather or the grain. That is just the way working with wood is. We do not have a lot of fancy sales talk to give people. If someone wants a table or a cupboard, they come out here to the estate and see what we are doing. The industrial estate can be a bit hard to navigate if you have never been here before. Just look for the big Ashtavinayak sign at the entrance. We have been in this unit for a few years now and we know the neighbors well. The tea stall around the corner is where we spend our breaks. It is a simple life and we like it.
