Furnirure Piont

We have been at No. 203-204 on Vasai Road for a while now. Furnirure Piont is what people see on the board when they walk past. Vasai West gets pretty busy, especially in the mornings when everyone is heading to work. The shop is usually full of wood shavings and the smell of polish because there is always something being worked on in the back. It is not a fancy place with bright lights. We just have chairs and beds lined up. Sometimes the dust from the road comes inside, so we spend a lot of time cleaning the glass. People from the neighborhood stop by to ask about fixing a broken leg on a table or getting a new cupboard made. We usually have the radio playing in the background. It gets hot in the afternoons, but the fans keep things moving. We don't have a big team, just a few of us who know how to handle the tools. Most days are spent measuring things or talking to people about what size sofa will fit in their small flats. It is a simple way to spend the day. We are right there on the main stretch, so you can't really miss the sign. Some days are slow and we just sit near the door, and other days we are running around trying to get things loaded onto the rickshaws for delivery. It is just regular work for us here at this location on Vasai Road.
