Sumeet Saree Center

Our shop is located at K 37/21 Sorakua, right on D F Road. If you know the area, you know it can get quite hectic with all the vehicles and people moving through. At Sumeet Saree Center, we spend most of our time unfolding and folding sarees. It’s a lot of manual work, keeping everything neat on the shelves. The floor is tile and it stays relatively cool even when it’s hot outside. We have stacks of different colors and fabrics everywhere. Sometimes the piles get a bit messy during the busy hours, and we have to spend the evening tidying up again. D F Road is always buzzing, so there’s never a dull moment looking out the front door. We don't have a big marketing team or anything; it’s just us here day in and day out. We keep a ledger for everything and try to stay organized, though it’s hard when things get busy. The Sorakua area has its own pace. We’ve grown used to the sounds of the street and the rhythm of the local trade. It’s a very grounded way to spend the day. We drink a lot of chai to keep going. The space is filled with the smell of new cloth and a bit of dust from the road. It’s just a regular saree shop trying to keep up with the daily demands of the neighborhood. Nothing more, nothing less.
