Azamgarh Ki Kalika

Our shop is number 14 in the Mint House building over in Nadesar. We are quite close to the Hotel Taj Nadesar, which is a big landmark in this part of Varanasi. People usually find us when they are looking for a meal that isn't from one of those expensive hotel dining rooms. We keep things very basic here. There are some tables, some chairs, and a kitchen that stays busy from morning until late at night. We don't have a big marketing budget or any fancy signs. Most of our customers come because they live nearby or they’ve heard about us from a friend. It's a small space, so it can get a bit crowded during the peak hours, but nobody seems to mind too much. We focus on the cooking and making sure the plates go out hot. The staff is just a small group of us who have worked together for years. We aren't trying to be the most famous place in Varanasi; we just want to run a steady business. You won't see any modern decor or art on the walls here. It is just a functional place to eat. We do our best to keep up with the orders, especially when the evening rush starts. It’s a simple life, but we like serving the people in Nadesar. We just keep the lights on and the food ready for whoever walks in next.
