Silk Fashion Creator is right in the heart of Bunkar Colony, in the Nati Imli area. This is a place where you can always hear the sound of work going on in the background. Our address is J-12/63-83, and it is a bit of a maze to get here if you aren't used to the narrow lanes. The colony is famous for its weavers and the history of fabric making. Our space is filled with stacks of different materials and threads. It is not a fancy showroom; it is more like a workshop where things actually get made. The air often smells like dye and fresh cloth. We spend our days checking the quality of the silk and making sure the patterns are coming out right. There is always a lot of movement, with people bringing in new batches of material or taking finished pieces away. The light inside is a bit dim, so we use some bright lamps over the work tables. We take our breaks sitting on the low stools, drinking tea from the local vendor who comes around with a kettle. It is a very traditional way of working, and we have been part of this community for years. The walls are covered with samples and old notes we’ve scribbled over time.
