Shree Mahamaya Provision Store

You’ll find us at Shop No 3 in Swastik Tower on Nagwa Road. We’re right in the Lanka area of Varanasi, not far from the Lanka Thana. It’s a busy part of town with a lot of people moving around all the time. Our store is a provision shop, so we mostly deal with grains, spices, oils, and other kitchen essentials. We buy things in bulk and then sell them to the local families who live nearby. The shop isn't very large, so we have to stack the sacks of rice and flour carefully to keep enough walking space. It’s a bit of a workout moving those heavy bags every morning. We’ve been here for a while and have seen the neighborhood change quite a bit. Despite the changes, our daily work stays pretty much the same. People come in with their lists, and we weigh out what they need. Sometimes we have a little chat about the weather or the local news while we’re packing things up. It’s a very hands-on job. The fans hum in the background all day to keep us cool, and the noise from Nagwa Road never really stops. We aren't fancy and we don't have a website or anything like that. We just focus on keeping the bins full and the counter clean. It’s a honest way to make a living, and we enjoy seeing the same faces every week.
