Shambhu General & Provision Store

Shambhu General & Provision Store sits on the main road in Nadesar, right in the Raja Bazar part of Varanasi. We have a lot of competition around here, but we just keep doing our own thing. The shop handles both general items and provision goods, so we have a mix of everything from lightbulbs to bags of lentils. It is a busy location, so we don't really have much time to sit down during the day. We are constantly rearranging things to make more space. The building is older, and sometimes the shelves creak a bit when we put heavy jars on them. We don't have a big staff, just family members and maybe one helper when things get really busy. We have been part of this community for years, and we know most of the people who walk through the door. It is not a place where you will find luxury items, just the practical stuff that every household needs. We deal with the usual daily struggles like the heat and the noise from the street. Our billing is still done mostly by hand because it is faster for us that way. We don't have any big goals of expanding or anything. We are happy just being the local shop where you can grab a packet of salt or some matches on your way home. That is our life here in Varanasi.
