Saree Banaras

Saree Banaras is located at C-5/4 on Badi Piyari Road in Chetganj. If you are looking for us, we are right near the SBI ATM, which is a big help because people often get lost on these streets. We actually share some space with the CMSSOLVE Software Company building. It is a bit of an interesting mix, having traditional sarees in the same spot as a tech place, but it works for us. We handle a lot of traditional weaves and we take pride in the stuff that comes from Banaras. The road outside can get very loud with all the rickshaws and people walking by, but inside it’s a bit calmer. We have stacks and stacks of sarees everywhere. Sometimes it takes a while to find the exact one someone is asking for, but we always get there. We don't go in for fancy talk or big promises. We just show the fabric and let people decide if they like it. Working in Chetganj means we see all sorts of folk. We spend a lot of time unfolding and folding silk. It’s a lot of manual work. My hands are usually tired by the end of the day. But seeing a nice saree ready to go makes it worth it. We are just a local business trying to keep the old traditions going in a modern city. We hope to stay here for many more years, just doing what we know how to do.
