Varanasi is an old, busy city, and our little corner in Ashapur has its own feel. We’ve been serving the local people here for quite a while now. It’s just a basic general store where you can grab the things you ran out of at home. We carry the usual items like rice, oil, and soap. The shop stays open pretty long hours because people around here always seem to need something last minute. It’s a small space, so things can get a bit crowded when a few customers come in at once. I try to keep everything organized, but it’s a constant battle with the inventory. The street outside is usually full of life, which makes the day go by faster. I’ve known most of the customers since they were kids. Now they bring their own children in to buy sweets or snacks. That’s the nice thing about a place like Santos General Store.
