Sangam Sarees

We are over at D 60/85 A in Choti Gaiby. It’s a narrow part of the city, so you have to be careful when you drive down here. Sangam Sarees is a family-run thing. We have piles of sarees everywhere you look. Some are plain and some have more work on them. We don't have those big glass displays like the shops in the main market. Here, we just pull things off the shelf to show people. It’s a bit dusty because of the old building. We’ve been in Choti Gaiby for a long time. People know us by name around here. We spend our days unfolding and refolding fabric. It’s a lot of manual work. We don't have a website or anything like that. If you want to see what we have, you just have to visit. Sometimes the power goes out, and we have to work by candlelight for a bit. It’s just part of living here. We get our stock from different weavers we know. We try to keep things affordable. We aren't interested in being a huge store. We like the way things are now. My kids help out after they get home from school. It is just a regular house turned into a shop. That’s the reality of it. We just open the door every morning and see what the day brings us.
