Rizwana Sarees

Rizwana Sarees is located at J23/30 in Kamalpura, right near the Jaitpura station. Because we are so close to the station, we can hear the trains arriving and leaving all day long. The sound of the whistles has just become part of our daily life. The shop itself is a bit small and we have piles of sarees everywhere. It’s a busy area and the streets outside are always crowded with people rushing to catch their trains or coming from the market. We spend our days unfolding and folding fabrics for people who stop by. It’s a lot of work to keep everything neat, especially on the days when new stock comes in. The shop has a very local feel to it and we know most of the other shopkeepers in Kamalpura. We don't have any big signs or bright lights. It’s just a simple place with shelves and a few counters where we sit. Sometimes we have tea with the neighbors when business is slow. The heat can be a bit much in the afternoons, so we keep the door open to get whatever breeze we can. Living and working in this part of town is noisy and fast, but we are used to it by now. We’ve been at this J23/30 address for a long time and it feels like home. When the sun goes down, the market gets even busier before everyone heads home.
