About Prithvi Sarees – Fashion & Trends in Varanasi
Being at D1/34 Lahori Tola Crossing puts us right in the middle of everything. It’s very close to the Vishwanath Temple, so the atmosphere is always lively, especially during festival times or special prayer days. You can hear the bells and the chanting if the wind blows the right way. Prithvi Sarees is a small spot, but we pack a lot into it. The crossing is usually jammed with rickshaws and people walking toward the temple. It makes for a very busy environment. We spend our mornings setting out the displays and making sure everything looks presentable. It’s a lot of standing and moving things around. The walls are lined with boxes from floor to ceiling. Sometimes it feels a bit cramped, but we are used to it by now. We don't have any fancy decorations or a modern showroom feel. It’s an old-school type of place. The wooden counters have been there for years and have the scratches to prove it. People come in mostly because they are already in the area for the temple. We just keep our heads down and do the work. The air in Lahori Tola is thick with the smell of incense and street food. It’s a unique place to be every day. We don't really think about it much, it’s just where we work. The narrow lanes around the crossing make deliveries a bit of a headache, but we manage somehow.
