Mishra General & Provision Store

Our shop, Mishra General & Provision Store, is right in the middle of Orderly Bazar Market here in Varanasi. We are very close to the Police Chowki, which is a good landmark if you are trying to find us for the first time. Orderly Bazar is always crowded and noisy, but that is just Varanasi for you. We keep all the basic provisions and general items that families around here need for their daily lives. From soap and shampoo to bags of rice and pulses, we try to have it all packed into our space. It’s a bit tight inside sometimes when we have a lot of customers, but we make it work. We have been in this spot for years, and the neighbors know us well. Being near the Police Chowki makes it a safe and familiar spot for everyone. We open up early because the market starts moving before the sun is even fully up. It is mostly just us working here, making sure the shelves aren't empty. We don't use any fancy computer systems for our inventory; we just look at the shelves and see what is missing. It is a simple way of doing things, but it has worked for us so far. If you are walking through the market, just look for the Mishra sign. We are usually there behind the counter ready to help you find whatever small thing you forgot to buy.
