Jerry Jimp

Jerry Jimp is a small business found on Gudhulia Road in the Shivala area of Varanasi. We are tucked away in the same neighborhood as Sonarpura and Faridpura. It is a very old and traditional part of the city, and our shop fits right in with the surroundings. We handle a variety of general goods that people need for their homes. The name of the shop is a bit unusual, but it is what people have known us by for years. The inside of the store is quite simple. We have wooden shelves and a stone floor that has worn down over time from all the people walking on it. We don't have a big staff, just a few of us who take turns managing the counter. The traffic on Gudhulia Road can be quite intense, so there is always a lot of noise coming in from the front door. We don't use any modern marketing techniques. Most of our customers are people who live in the narrow alleys nearby and stop in while they are out running errands. We try to keep a good stock of the basics, though sometimes we run out of certain items if the suppliers are stuck in traffic. It is a plain and practical business. We aren't trying to impress anyone with how the shop looks. We just want to provide what is needed and keep things running smoothly every day for everyone.
